New Evidence

Peter Voigt exhibited his new series of images titled "New Evidence," which explores the manipulation and sequencing of documentary photographs to establish connections and analogies between them. This results in an interpretation that, although unstable, provides a unique and thought-provoking experience.

Traps

The sensitization of perception, dream narratives, ritual, and psychology are themes that Marc Behrens explores in his art and music. Examples include the radio play Nachtsprache (Night Speech, hr2-kultur, 2021) and the masks from the exhibition and book project Mask Behrens. His sculptural objects, Traps, evoke associations with traditional ghost traps and dreamcatchers or with technical devices like cylindrical bass traps used in recording studios to avoid low-frequency resonances. The BBAS Trap, a long aluminum tube with segments faintly reminiscent of bamboo, emits soft bass tones vibrating within its hollow space. The BBPS Traps, made of bamboo and iridescent plastic, hover playfully in the room, calling to mind the bamboo barricades of democratic protests in Bangkok or Hong Kong. Behrens also incorporates thorny branches, which could be seen as the botanical inspiration for barbed wire. They too can serve as traps, as skin or clothing can easily get caught on the thorns. However, Behrens' art traps are not about boundaries or obstacles. They are captivating attention-grabbers, strange attractors, designed to ensnare the joy of discovery.
