Privacy Notice

1. Controller

Peter Voigt, Ludwigstr. 167, 63067 Offenbach, Germany. Email: info@strangeplace.de

2. General

We process personal data only as far as this is necessary to operate this website and to answer enquiries. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (answering your enquiry), Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website) and, where stated, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany, which processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). When you visit a page, the server automatically records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and technical browser data. This is necessary for the technical operation and security of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after 30 days. We evaluate them in aggregated form to see how often pages are visited, on our own server, without cookies and without passing data to third parties.

4. Cookies

This website itself does not use cookies or similar technologies that require your consent, and it does not use analytics, tracking or advertising services. For this reason no consent banner is shown. For embedded videos, see section 6.

5. Contact by email or phone

If you contact us, we process your name, contact details and message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the data once your request is dealt with, unless we are legally required to keep it.

6. Embedded videos (YouTube)

Some pages contain videos from our YouTube channel (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The preview image of each video is loaded from YouTube’s servers when the page opens, so your IP address is transmitted to YouTube. The video itself is only loaded after you click on it; at that moment further data is transmitted and YouTube may set cookies or similar technologies. This is based on our legitimate interest in showing our videos (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for the video itself, on your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

7. External links

This website links to other sites. These links only transmit data once you click them. We have no influence on how those sites process data; please read their privacy notices.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). To exercise your rights, write to info@strangeplace.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for us this is Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
