Ice, Ice Baby Ice Cubes are compact works from an ongoing photographic project exploring glacial ice in Arctic environments. Using a technical camera with perspective control and a specialized industrial lens originally developed for microchip inspection, I photograph ice structures in a portable studio setup on location, using controlled lighting and polarization techniques. These methods isolate the internal tensions, crystalline formations, and subtle transformations within the ice, giving them a clarity they don’t have in ordinary perception. The project draws on Friedrich Schelling’s philosophy of nature, approaching the glacier not as a static subject but as an active, self‐forming entity. What you see in these images are traces of that inner activity: ice as process, not object. These small‐format editions offer a way to engage with the project as it unfolds. more info
